Oliver Kappe. The prize will be presented at the 15th International Conference on Microreaction Technology (<a href=\"https:\/\/dechema.de\/en\/IMRET2018.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IMRET15<\/a>) in Karlsruhe on October 21, 2018. The award address will be delivered at the Flow Chemistry Europe Conference in Cambridge, UK on February 26th, 2019. The prize consists of an award of $10,000 US Dollars.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_8905\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-8905\" style=\"width: 214px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-8905 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/iupac.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/c-oliver-kappe_214x300-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-8905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">C. Oliver Kappe is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Graz (Austria)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Professor Kappe is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Graz (Austria) and Scientific Director for Continuous Flow Synthesis and Processing (CC Flow) at the Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering GmbH (RCPE). <em>{<a href=\"https:\/\/goflow.at\/our-team\/c-oliver-kappe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">link to goflow.at<\/a>}<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Professor Kappe has over 400 publications in the areas of continuous flow chemistry, application of microreactors, process intensification, and microwave-assisted reactions. He and his team have published syntheses with challenging systems and chemistry. He has served as an Ambassador for Flow Chemistry through his teaching, interdisciplinary work, and collaborations.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Kappe holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Graz in 1992. He completed postdoctoral research at the University of Queensland (Australia) and Emory University (United States). He has served as visiting scientist\/professor at the Scripps Institute, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Sanford-Burnham Institute for Medical Research, and the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Ley<\/a>\u00a0(University of Cambridge, UK) for his outstanding contribution and creative work in methodologies for organic synthesis, especially in multi-step synthesis in continuous flow chemistry reactor systems.<br \/>\nIn 2012 the first IUPAC-ThalesNano Prize in Flow Chemistry was awarded to <a href=\"https:\/\/iupac.org\/publications\/ci\/2012\/3403\/iw1_jensen.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Professor Klavs F. Jensen<\/a> (MIT, USA) for his outstanding contribution to the field of flow chemistry both in academia and industry.
